Want to beat the heat? Build an in-door garden at your home

The heat is bearable no more. Going outside for some fresh air means melting your skin off. Why not have an indoor garden so you can have all the outdoor freshness you want without scorching your skin. Not to mention the migraines that the heat brings. Although constructing an indoor garden can be challenging, the end result is worth the work.

1. Research and Plan


First, you need to do some research on what kind of plants will be able to survive without the sunlight. Examples such as arugula, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, leek, basil, catnip, chives, lemongrass, lavender, oregano, thyme, spinach, lettuce, and more. Leafy plants and herbs work best indoors. Try experimenting, that’s one of the fun parts.
When you have chosen the kinds of plants to grow in your home, plan out how to best arrange them. Start from growing the new seeds indoors. It is not advisable to bring in already growing plants from outside. They may bring along plant diseases or even pests into your home, and these are contagious and troublesome to eradicate.

2. Lighting


Proper lighting is a vital point in successfully growing all kinds of plants. There are a variety of grow lights you can get for your plants. Know your needs and plants and find them. Fluorescent lights are one of the more cost-effective types you can find, but are only good for average-sized plants. If you are planning to energize a bigger scale garden, you would need HID (High intensity Discharge) lights. Another popular choice of grow light to get would be LED (Light-Emitting Diode) lights.

3. Air Circulation For Your Plants


After succeeding all that, don’t forget to station a fan around the plants. It’s good practice to provide excellent air circulation for your plants, just like how it would be for them outdoors.


Homes are not the only places to befit accomplished and thriving indoor gardens. Offices are well suited to them as well.
Indoor gardens are the perfect thing for helping reduce stress levels and feelings of claustrophobia in your home or your workplace. If the idea of building a fully-equipped garden with all the bells and whistles sounds daunting to you, you can always start small and add to it little by little. Or not, the choices are all yours.
